ABOUT

missinginactiondesign_about.jpg

Mia is a South Coast based illustrator with a penchant for eighties pop culture, colour and aesthetic.

Day to day she works as a fully-fledged graphic designer working on surface patterns and custom illustration for a range of clients across textiles, stationery and print media.

During the twilight hours, she works on her independent label Missing In Action - creating crazy colour popping mash-up surface patterns. Using a mix of hand drawn and digital illustration, transforming them into yardage prints to use across a variety of textile products from scatter cushions and tote bags to t-shirts and leggings.

Before going out on her own, Mia previously worked as a Graphic Designer at various Fashion Labels, Set up Wollongong's Terrarium Gallery- curating numerous exhibitions, whilst participating in the odd group show in art spaces across Wollongong, Newcastle and Melbourne.
Mia is super into Instant Polaroid photography, 80's films and books written by comedians.

And yes, in case you were wandering The Breakfast Club is her favourite film.
